I have been visiting one of my sons in the beautiful state of Texas this week. Lucky for me I can fulfill continuing education requirements there and it gives me a good excuse to visit too. Plus the bonus of lots of sunshine and beautiful weather.
It’s been a long winter (again). Not that it was particularly any worse than most years, but it just seems to keep hanging on. Add in grey skies, rain and a never ending cold wind. Well, let’s just say I was more than ready for baking in the sunshine of the Lone Star State.
It’s always a joy to see family of course. The bonus is the kindness of the people I got to meet while attending the conferences and trainings. I have always heard and agreed with the terms Midwest Kindness or Minnesota Nice but Southern Hospitality is also alive and well. I have to say that the people were outstanding everywhere I went. The whole visit put some much-needed sunshine into my soul.
